Sarah Barclay

Our founder Sarah is known as the designer who delivers. Highly regarded for her open-minded, intuitive and warm approach, she enjoys decades-long partnerships with consistently returning clients.
Informed by a wide visual lexicon, Sarah’s schemes are designed with elegant originality and imbued with personality. By successfully combining creative flair with a sharp eye from process, planning and detail she designs remarkable spaces and beautiful homes all around the world.
Sarah spent her formative years at the creative heart of central London alongside her mother, a talented interior decorator, and a musical director father. As an adult, a natural cultural curiosity fuelled extensive travel to far-flung climes and cosmopolitan cities.
Having originally studied Law and gone on to work in the City of London, Sarah’s calling was innately creative. She began studying lighting design and calligraphy, millinery and textile design, culminating in a degree in the History of Art and Architecture before launching Barclay Interiors in 1998.
